How it works

01

Open a memorial page

A protected space with photo, life story and memorial-service information. Set up in a few steps — by relatives themselves or on a family's behalf.

02

Gather compassion

Friends, family and companions leave words, memories and photos. They need no account — a link is enough.

03

Preserve as a book

If the family wishes, the messages become a beautifully designed, printed memorial book — something that stays in your hands.

The printed memory book

From the contributions and photos collected, a designed, bound book is created. Printed on high-quality paper, delivered to your door.

Who opens a memorial page?

Often it isn't those directly grieving — but people who want to help.

Family and people who are close

Anyone close to a family — as a friend, brother, aunt or distant relative — can open a memorial page for them. If the family takes it on themselves, they're just as welcome. Free and without big hurdles.

Book of Honor partners

Pastors, freelance grief speakers, grief companions and funeral homes can open memorial pages on behalf of the families they accompany — as part of their professional work, under their own name.

An honest matter.

Creating a memorial page, gathering compassion and keeping it online for the first 12 months is free. We don't make money from grief itself.

« It was a space where we could gather words — even from people who couldn't be with us. »
Family M., Wädenswil

Frequently asked

Can I open a memorial page if I'm not part of the immediate family?+

Yes. As a friend, relative or professional companion — pastor, grief companion, funeral home, freelance grief speaker — you can open a memorial page. Especially when the family is overwhelmed at this time, it's often a great help.

Do contributors need to create an account to write something?+

No. To leave a message, you click the link, write your text and send it. No account, no password, no technical hurdles — older people manage easily too.

Does this fit families of every tradition?+

Yes. The platform is open in language and design to every family — regardless of tradition or belief. Religious elements are available where they're wanted, and not where they don't fit.

Who can see the memorial page?+

Only people who are given the link. The page is private by default and not findable through search engines.

What if someone writes something inappropriate or hurtful?+

Whoever is responsible for the page keeps control. Messages can be reviewed before publication or hidden later. If a printed book is created, the family chooses which messages go into it.

Can the family take over management later themselves?+

Yes. Whoever opens the page for a family can transfer access to them — the family then keeps full long-term control.

What happens after the 12 months?+

We send a reminder in good time with the options — extend the online time, order a memorial book or end the page. If you don't respond, the page is moved to an archived state for six months — still viewable by you, but closed to new messages. During this time you receive two to three automatic reminders. Only then is the page permanently deleted.

What if the family can't afford the memorial book?+

No one should have to go without a memorial book for financial reasons. In future, it's planned that condolers can help finance the book with a small donation — so that it's carried by many together.
